PATCH HANDLE CARRIER BAGS

A patch handle carrier bag is of continual gauge, but with an internally reinforced handle, either glued or heat sealed. Usually finished with a straight cut punched out handle. A patch handle carrier bag can be printed up to 100% in full colour. These are commonly used in many retail outlets and for exhibition purposes.

For biodegradable materials, minimums of 5,000 apply for white LDPE 18" deep. Please ask for details of other sizes of carrier bag and coloured biodegradable LDPE carrier bags, as minimums are usually 50,000+. UK biodegradable carrier bags are manufactured from POLYBATCH® DEG 68 UK. Polythene containing this will not degrade before being exposed to UV light. Once exposed, the degradation will continue even in the dark although can be accelerated by heat too as POLYBATCH® DEG 68 UK is a photochemically and thermally degradable film. In composting situations the time for degradation can be less than 2 months (Typical composting temperatures of 70°C, 50mu film, 4% POLYBATCH® DEG 68 UK). Several academic studies have shown that POLYBATCH® DEG 68 UK will degrade to water, carbon dioxide and a small amount of non-toxic matter (A.Schulman Inc. Ltd).
